Message from the

DIRECTOR

HE Institute for Development and Research in
TBanking Technology (IDRBT) was established by
Reserve Bank of India for promoting research and
developmentinBankingTechnology.

As part of its initiatives towards building human
resources skills required by the banking and
financial services industry, IDRBT has commenced
offering Post Graduate Diploma in Banking
Technology (PGDBT), a full-time regular one year
programme, which provides all essential inputs on
technology implementation, integration and
management.

The syllabus of the PGDBT includes important topics
like Information Security, Computer Networks,
Business Analytics, Applications Development,
Cloud Computing, e-commerce and Payment
Systems. The final term is devoted to a hands-on
project, carried out at one of the financial
institutions/banks and this project exposes the
studentstorealworldchallengesofthesector.
The admissions to the course is through CAT and
similar examinations followed by a rigorous
selection process in the form of group discussions
and interviews. The selected students are provided
the required exposure by IDRBT faculty and external
experts so as to enable them to be “employment-
ready” in the field of banking and information
technology.
Iamconfident that the recruiting organizations will
derive good benefit by engaging these well-trained
students.
