Message from the

Director

HE Institute for Development and Research in
TBanking Technology is a first-of-its-kind
institution, established by the Reserve Bank of
India, to spearhead banking technology in India.

The Banking and Financial Sector in India over the years has
transformed at a rapid pace with technology as its key enabler.
With the sector's transformation from its traditional approach to
embracing modern and innovative technologies, the nature of human resources
alsochanged, triggering demand for tech-savvy talent.

With the aim to provide future-ready tech talent for the Indian Banking and Financial
Sector, the Institute launched the Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Technology
(PGDBT) in July 2016. I am happy to share that not only were all the PGDBTians of the first
two batches selected by the banks, the feedback being received about their contribution
in the banks is very satisfying and encouraging.

There has been a significant spurt in the quantity and quality of applications received this
year. The students selected through a rigorous process, are being provided in-depth
exposure to all aspects of Banking Technology, through a fine blend of theory and
practice with emphasis on exposure to the banking industry requirements through lab
practice, case studies, focused lectures, interaction with reputed academics, senior
bankers and industry experts.

I am confident that these PGDBTians would be able to make a significant contribution to
the technology initiatives of banks. Over a period of time, they can take up challenging
roles in the organisation.

Banks, financial institutions and IT companies are invited to participate in the placement
programme of the third batch of PGDBT students and recruit these well-groomed young
technology talent. We look forward to your keen participation.
